Perpetrator in Maryland Stabbing is a member of ‘Alt-Reich’ Facebook Group

Sean Christopher Urbanski 22 of Maryland, is charged with murder in the death of Richard Collins III, a commissioned US Army Second Lieutenant, due to graduate from Bowie State University.

A judge has denied bond for Urbanski, who is a member of a Facebook group called “Alt-Reich,” which spewed hatred toward minorities “and especially African-Americans.”  The FBI is assisting in the investigation as they attempt to determine if the incident was a hate crime.

Urbanski has been charged with first and second-degree murder as well as first-degree assault.  Maryland State Attorney Angela D. Alsobrooks stated, “Whether or not it’s a hate crime is one of those angles that will be considered,” she said. “I can tell you that at this early stage in this investigation, we do not have enough evidence to say conclusively whether this is a hate crime.”
